RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Jack Zwald, a financial professional and community volunteer who officially announced his candidacy for Rancho Cordova City Council last November, has pulled the paperwork necessary to appear on the ballot this fall. Zwald reported $33,012.60 in contributions on campaign finance documents filed. Zwald also reported that the campaign had $27,585.89 still on hand as of June 30, 2020. This filing comes on the heels of an overwhelming January filing which showed Zwald as the cash leader in the race by $10,000.
“As we get closer to November, I am grateful for the support I have received from my friends and neighbors. Over the next four months, I look forward to talking to voters and sharing my plans to protect our community and rebuild our economy,” Zwald said.
Jack works as a budget manager at the California Department of Finance; he oversees the state’s $3.2 billion public health budget. He manages the finances of programs increasing access to healthcare and fighting infectious diseases. Jack is also a member of the Sacramento County Public Health Advisory Board, previously serving as Vice Chair. In Jack’s time on the board, he built a partnership between the county and the Los Rios Community College District to reopen women’s health clinics.
Jack is also the Past President of Rancho Cordova Kiwanis, raising thousands of dollars for scholarships for high school seniors, community college students transferring to four-year colleges, and adult learners seeking a GED.
