RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Join us in congratulating Riverview STEM Academy in Rancho Cordova for being named a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School. Riverview STEM was one of only two schools in Sacramento County to be selected as a Blue Ribbon School this year, and one out of 367 schools in the nation.  

“Folsom Cordova Unified School District is proud of the staff and students at Riverview STEM Academy for earning a 2020 National Blue Ribbon Award, a high honor recognizing excellence in academic rigor,” said Superintendent Dr. Sarah Koligian.

Riverview STEM Academy was recognized in the Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing School category for their success in closing achievement gaps in English and math in student subgroups over the past three to five years. 

“This is a huge honor for all of us at Riverview STEM Academy,” said school Principal, Lari Miller-Powell. “We continue to be motivated by all of the hard work that we see from everyone, and by their achievements,” she added. 

With its focus on science, technology, engineering and math, students at Riverview STEM Academy learn to become critical thinkers and problem solvers through an innovative and project-based curriculum.

“The City of Rancho Cordova congratulates Riverview STEM Academy on this prestigious designation. We are proud of the hard work and effort Rancho Cordova teachers and staff give to our students each and every day. Our schools and students are exemplary,” said Mayor David Sander.
