RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Cordova Recreation & Park District is finding innovative ways to provide fun and safety with a variety of drive-thru events. Each event meets Sacramento County Public Health regulations for social distancing and is designed to keep the community connected and engaged in a unique way.
On October 21, the Senior Drive-Thru Info Fair took place at the Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center. This event included 20 information booths with valuable resources and ended with a hotdog lunch to go.
On October 24, the Drive Boo! Trunk-or-Treat at Hagan Community Park welcomed 180 families with a new twist on its annual Halloween at Hagan tradition. Community members and local businesses helped make this event an overwhelming success by decorating 25 cars, trucks, and industrial vehicles. Each station had an exciting Halloween display and treats to pass out for families driving through. The Drive Boo! encouraged everyone to come in costume, and to bring canned food to help replenish our local food bank.
Cordova Recreation & Park District has even more drive-thru fun planned this year. Keep your eyes open for their weekly Drive-Thru Green Thumb Lunch and Parking Lot Bingo, the Veterans Day Celebration Drive-Thru in November, and the Drive Down Candy Cane Lane in December.
