RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Meet Rancho Cordova Police Department (RCPD) Officer Alexander Perez. Officer Perez is assigned to RCPD’s Patrol Operations Bureau as a patrol officer.
Officer Perez was initially in a doctorate program in psychology on the path to become a clinical psychologist. After he completed training hours at a California State Prison in his second year of the program, he realized his true passion was law enforcement.
Officer Perez contacted recruiters and participated in ride-alongs with several law enforcement agencies to develop an understanding of what it meant to be in law enforcement. He decided to join the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office to proactively support the community and promote positive interactions with citizens.
Officer Perez worked at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center and Patrol before he joined RCPD as a patrol officer in fall 2019. He is also an Arrest Control/Defense Tactics and Report Writing Instructor at the Sheriff’s Office Academy.
The Patrol Operations Bureau includes six patrol teams that operate on a rotating 10-hour schedule with continuous 24-hour coverage, seven days a week in the City of Rancho Cordova. Officer Perez proactively patrols and responds to calls for service during the graveyard shift throughout the night.
“What I enjoy most working at RCPD is the family environment and getting to hear feedback from our community,” said Officer Perez. “Our citizens provide invaluable insight and information about our work, and we need to continue to serve them to the fullest.”
