RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Take it or Leaf it! Rancho Cordova now has its first Take a Plant, Leaf a Plant (TAPLAP) garden stand at the your disposal. Community residents who love plants and love to share garden materials will take pleasure in stopping by this seed and plant swap opportunity.

Rancho Cordova local artist and resident Keani Balaban has made her front yard at 2622 Garrett Way, Rancho Cordova a stopping ground for green thumbs in the area. Balaban says, "The Take a Plant, Leaf a Plant movement is a community based grassroots campaign to bring neighbors and gardeners together. The concept relies on 25+ Sacramento county stands where excess yard waste can be donated, as well as any other gardening and yard items from the public.”

The Take a Plant, Leaf a Plant website explains how it works: “Just like the title may imply, visit one of the existing plant swap locations and then you take a plant and leave a plant. If you have a few extra plants to share, then feel free to leave them to help the plant swap grow.”

Keani tells residents they “do not need to donate to enjoy the stand and take a plant… you can just pick up a plant gift for you or a friend/neighbor! It is available 24/7 with restocks in the morning!”
