RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) – The Crossover Basketball organization celebrated the 2022 middle school basketball season on Tuesday, March 15 at River City Christian Church.

This year’s season consisted of four teams with eight to 10 players per team. Games were played on Monday evenings for six weeks. Through Rancho Cordova's Measure H Community Enhancement Fund, the league hosted Richaun Holmes from the Sacramento Kings as their guest speaker for the celebration dinner.

Crossover Basketball's focus is to build character, confidence, responsibility and faith in their players. Holmes reflected on these attributes when speaking to the middle schoolers. The 6-foot-10 center stated that his success in the NBA has come because of a strong family foundation and hard individual work.

After Holmes spoke, he took photographs and signed autographs for the kids and their families. Team awards were distributed while attendees enjoyed a nice meal consisting of pasta with meat sauce, salad, garlic bread and brownies for dessert.

The 2022 high school season for Crossover Basketball begins on March 28 and spots are still available. Please visit www.rivercitychristian.org/crossover for more information.
