RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - The opening of the Cordova Community Pool, as a body of water, at Hagan Community Park last year has already begun to affect the migration patterns of some very peculiar species. Latest of these creatures seeking Hagan’s clear, blue waters were a school of mermaids sighted on May 20th-22nd.
The spectacle of beauty and splashing, which was previously identified as Mermaid Weekend in Sacramento, has each year coalesced into a larger amassing now known as The California Mermaid Convention. Those in Rancho Cordova who sought to observe and befriend their aquatic kindred were impressed to watch this deep-sea finned lineup and their offspring basking under Cordova’s warm sun.
The mermaids at Hagan rallied their support for The American River Parkway Foundation because of the importance this waterway has in providing a friendly, amphibious setting to enjoy, and also to educate terrestrials on environmental stewardship.
