RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Tuesday, August 2nd is National Night Out for 2022. This summer’s event, which is held nationwide on the first Tuesday of the month of August, is celebrated to promote solidarity between neighborhoods and local police for which community members are invited for some good, family-friendly fun.

The Rancho Cordova Police Department and the City of Rancho Cordova welcome community members to National Night Out for “an evening of food, neighbors meeting neighbors, and much fun.”

According to RCPD, “National Night Out is an annual event in our community that provides a fun way for RCPD to strengthen ties to the neighborhoods we serve, build relationships between officers and residents, and educate about the importance of neighborhood watch programs.”

“The mission of National Night Out,” according to National Night Out’s national mission, “is to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.”

In California, alone, there are hundreds of communities, including Rancho Cordova, celebrating with 38 million neighbors in 16,000 vicinities across the nation who are joining law enforcement groups.

According to the National Night Out website, you can also hold your own get-together in your neighborhood by hosting block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and much more.

Supporting police, sheriffs’ departments and other law enforcement agencies not only helps weave the torn social fabric in our communities but can also provide an important perspective for those seeking new careers or friendships.
