Jun 11, 2024 05:04PM ● By St. Clement’s Episcopal Church News ReleaseRANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - St. Clement's Episcopal Church in Rancho Cordova is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Zac Neubauer as their newest rector. Born and raised in Ohio, Zac began his ordination process in the Church of England while living in the UK and has previously served at churches in Georgia and other parts of Northern California.
Zac had served at St. Clement's as part-time, interim priest, commuting regularly from Napa while the parish looked for a full-time permanent priest. During his time as interim, it became clear that Zac and St. Clement’s were a very good fit for each other, and he was ceremonially installed as rector by Bishop Megan Traquair in February.
Zac is enthusiastic about St. Clement's and its role in the community. "I was attracted by a welcoming and diverse congregation and by the unusually strong music program. I was also impressed by their deep commitment to outreach, particularly their partnering with United Methodist Church and others in the People’s Pantry and HART (The Homeless Assistance Resource Program.)" St. Clement's Senior Warden, Laura Simkins, notes: "The congregation was impressed with Zac’s energy, his enthusiasm for the Episcopal Church, and with his relevant, scripture-based sermons."
Community members can get to know Zac and St. Clement’s better by attending “Summer Supper and Songs”, which will be held Sunday evenings this summer. The remaining Summer Supper & Songs are July 21 and Aug. 25, both at 5 p.m. For more information about St. Clements, visit saint-clements.com.
