RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Cordova High School celebrated its Homecoming game last Friday, Sept. 24 with a victory over Kennedy. In addition to the football game were numerous other homecoming activities.

Cordova Royalty winners were crowned for freshman, sophomore and junior classes. The crowning of Senior Homecoming Queen and King was also celebrated during halftime.

All four classes built and decorated homecoming floats with themes based on Disney movies. The sophomore float took first-place in the judging and was based on the Disney movie “Up.”

Perhaps the highlight of the homecoming festivities was the halftime alumni parade where several different graduating classes from the 20th and 21st centuries paraded around the field to the crowd’s delight.

The Cordova High School Band, under the direction of band director Kevin Sims, provided entertainment for the homecoming festivities. Cheerleaders from past classes joined in to cheer on the Lancers.

All combined, the winning football and the Homecoming festivities resulted in a Lancer Stadium full of energy.
