RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Cordova Recreation and Park District (CRPD) was recently recognized at the California Special Districts Association (CSDA) Annual Conference in Indian Wells for its commitment to financial transparency and accessibility of information.
In recognition of its efforts toward engaging the community and making vital information available to constituents, the Cordova Recreation and Park District was awarded with the District of Distinction Gold Accreditation and the District Transparency Certificate of Excellence.
These two titles serve as indicators of the commitment that Cordova Recreation and Park District has made toward providing community members with transparency and consistency throughout its governing process. The District of Distinction Gold Accreditation must be earned through the demonstration of prudent financial management and sound fiscal policy administration. The Gold Accreditation is one of the highest levels of recognition awarded by the Special District Leadership Foundation.
“I am so proud of the hard work and dedication to excellence by the CRPD staff and board members to attain these high honors,” said General Manager Patrick Larkin. “Our mission is to ‘Lead the region in recreation and parks through excellence and transparency in serving the needs of our diverse and growing community.’ These awards demonstrate our commitment to serving our community with high integrity and ethics.”
The District Transparency Certificate of Excellence is awarded to districts that commit themselves to operating ethically and transparently. By meeting the qualifications of this certification, Cordova Recreation and Park District has effectively demonstrated their dedication to maintaining ethical operations and quality business practices as a California Special District form of government.
