FOLSOM, CA (MPG) - The Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD) celebrated 48 teachers who successfully completed the District’s Teacher Induction Program during an end-of-year celebration held May 7, at the Folsom Community Center. The event marked the culmination of two years of dedicated work as teachers progressed toward clearing their teaching credentials.

“Watching teachers share in the joy of learning, supporting and coaching new educators and build lasting relationships is truly rewarding. It’s inspiring to see how they continue to uplift and help other teachers grow”, Joanie Cunningham, Coordinator of New Teacher Support & Development said.

The occasion brought together principals, teachers and other District leaders to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of Year 1 and Year 2 candidates, and the meaningful impact they are making in classrooms across Folsom Cordova Unified School District. The evening included a reception, welcome remarks from District leadership and an engaging activity highlighting the program’s collaborative learning, culminating in Year 1 recognition and the presentation of Year 2 completion awards honoring each candidate’s commitment to professional growth and student success.

Throughout the two-year program, teachers engaged in individualized coaching, goal setting and ongoing reflection to strengthen instructional practices and support positive outcomes for students, while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, targeted coaching and mentorship. This work reflects the program’s commitment to fostering reflective practice, building a community of lifelong learners and advancing effective, student-centered teaching strategies. Completing the Teacher Induction Program represents both a significant professional achievement and an ongoing commitment to excellence in education.

“Last year, there were a lot of teachers who were in their second year at my school, so I got perspectives from them, having already been through year one of induction. I really liked making connections with people I didn’t necessarily connect with at school, but made connections here, and now I still talk with them at school because we have that relationship we made during this process,” said Peter Wells, teacher at Cordova Villa Elementary School.

As these educators complete their induction journey, they move forward with strengthened skills, deeper insight and a renewed dedication to meeting the needs of all learners. The Folsom Cordova Unified School District extends its heartfelt congratulations to all 2026 Teacher Induction graduates on this outstanding accomplishment and their continued commitment to students and learning.
