RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - As the Fourth of July approaches, the City of Rancho Cordova is reminding residents that all fireworks are illegal year-round except for Safe & Sane fireworks during the approved holiday period.
Safe & Sane fireworks may only be used June 28 through July 4 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The use or possession of illegal fireworks is strictly prohibited and subject to increased enforcement and significant penalties including $1,000 fine per illegal firework and/or up to 6 months in jail in neighborhoods and/or $10,000 fine per illegal firework and/or up to 6 months in jail on school property.
Illegal fireworks are never allowed in Rancho Cordova.
Residents are encouraged to report illegal fireworks activity to the Rancho Cordova Police Department at 916-362-5115. Incidents can also be reported through Rancho Cordova Connect, the city’s online app. Visit cityofranchocordova.org/residents/resident-services/rancho-cordova-connect.
